Syllabus Overview
Accounting I is a full-year intermediate Career and Technical Education course applicable to programs of study in the Finance or Business Management and Administration career clusters. The course covers accounting fundamentals including double-entry accounting, financial recordkeeping, and preparation of financial statements. Students analyze revenues, expenses, assets, and liabilities; apply payroll and tax concepts; and complete project-based tasks tied to business scenarios. Built to state and national CTE standards with applications aligned to real workplace practices. Students who successfully complete the course will be prepared to pursue certifications such as Associate in Regulation and Compliance, Certified Management Accountant, or Certified Quality Auditor.
